The Island
The client was looking for a spacious, light and uncluttered bathroom with a large shower. But the current bathroom is dark, located at the back of the apartment, at the end of a corridor with no natural light, and the client didn't have the budget to move the bathroom and blow all the space! Another priority was to free up space in the kitchen by moving the washing machine.
To bring in natural light, a long horizontal window was opened in the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. The feeling of spaciousness is created by the walk-in shower, with its large glass wall and large, light-coloured ceramic tiles on the floor that extend up part of the shower wall. On the rest of the walls, to maintain unity, we chose a beautiful linen-coloured silica rendering. This rendering, applied with a trowel, adds warmth. Finally, the combination of mineral, wood and aluminum gives the whole a very raw feel with a touch of sophistication. The laundry area has not been forgotten: between the bedroom and the bathroom, a large cupboard has been created, which will also provide storage space for bath linen.
